Race driver Ellen Lohr reported live from the Dakar Rally
Pure adventure: On January 2, the world’s most famous off-road race, the Dakar Rally, got started. Joining in again this year was the successful race driver and Global Topspeaker Ellen Lohr. In her eleventh participation in this notorious race, she followed the rally on site in South America and reported live from the trackside.
As an expert in motor sports, Ellen Lohr was a member of the press team of the French sports organiser A.S.O. (Amaury Sport Organisation) that hosted the long-distance rally and is also responsible for the organisation of the Tour de France. On behalf of the organiser, she was responsible for the German market, accompanied the participants on their eventful way to the finish line and conducted video interviews on a daily basis which are shown on autobild.de and motorsport-magazin.com.
With Ellen Lohr, the organiser had enlisted a well-known face as the professional race driver is one of the most successful women race drivers all over the world. She held her ground in a male domain and so far is the only woman to win a race in the DTM (German Touring Car Championship). With more than 30 years of professional experience as a pro in motor sports, she can draw on comprehensive expertise. This year, the Dakar Rally took place for the 39th time and as the year before was held in South America. Within 12 days, the participants in the categories motor bikes, cars, trucks and quad bikes raced along an eventful track through the deserts of three countries. They started on January 2 in Asunción in Paraguay, continued through Bolivia and its capital La Paz and finally along the Andes to Argentina. The finish line was in Buenos Aires.
