Hope and candles for cancer patients from Richard de Hoop

Global Topspeaker Richard de Hoop experienced moving moments during the „Samenloop voor Hoop“ in the Dutch city of Weert. At this charity event for people suffering from cancer, whose name translates to “gathering of hope“, teams collect donations for the Dutch Cancer Society KWF in a 24 hour run. Richard de Hoop headed the candle ceremony during which candles with messages of hope for the cancer patients were placed for a length of 3 km along the running course and which was part of the main event.

Keeping up the hope for life, motivating oneself again and again to cope with setbacks - these are the challenges people confronted with cancer have to face. Motivation coach Richard de Hoop was happy to make his enormous practical experience and his rousing way of lecturing available in form of a voluntary performance at the „Samenloop voor Hoop“ in his native city of Weert. In front of about 70 cancer survivors, he gave a highly emotional speech on resilience and on how to deal with setbacks in life.

The candle ceremony, that took place in the late evening, was accompanied by the passionate speaker de Hoop with the narration of a story that metaphorically conveyed how to handle the adversities of life using the example of three trees ravaged by storm. „To me, meeting these people was a gift of life“, says Richard de Hoop. „When about 3,000 people gathered around the heart-shaped set-up of the candles and I could read the messages on the candles, I realised what people can achieve together – especially in difficult situations.“

Richard de Hoop himself is an authentic example of what he wants to convey to his enthusiastic audience in his rousing presentations that are accompanied by music. He loves life, people and music and on stage, he passionately combines this attitude to an orchestral whole in a special and inspiring way. Motivation coach Richard de Hoop’s motivating message to the audience of his keynotes is: Underline the strengths of each individual and place them where they can best put these strengths to use – just as in an orchestra where every instrument has its part. Only if everybody acts at their proper place, enthusiasm and passion for work will arise and push teams to great and extraordinary achievements.
