Friedhelm Wachs accepts award by Hanns Lilje Foundation

Verhandlungsexperte Friedhelm Wachs mit Hanns-Lilje-Stiftungspreis

In his capacity as Vice Chairman of the Arbeitskreis Evangelischer Unternehmer (AEU), the Working Committee of Protestant Entrepreneurs in Germany, Global Topspeaker and chief negotiator Friedhelm Wachs accepted the award for “Freiheit und Verantwortung” (award for “Freedom and Responsibility”) by the Hanns Lilje Foundation. This prize is the most generously endowed award for church, theology and society issues nationwide and is granted for projects that take an innovative approach to questions regarding the significance of business and encourage the dialogue between church and industry.

„For us, the award underlines the importance of dialogue as a precondition for an open discourse to reach an understanding on social issues“, said Friedhelm Wachs after the award ceremony at the Neustädter Court and City Church in Hanover. „This is even more so in times when loudly repeating statements and positions threatens to replace dealing with facts and exchanging arguments.“, elaborated Friedhelm Wachs. Being Germany’s no. 1 negotiation expert, the Global Topspeaker has been supporting companies and governments in negotiations for more than 30 years and as a sought-after speaker, he passes on his expert knowledge in his presentations as well. On a voluntary basis, he is also a Member of the Board of the Working Committee of Protestant Entrepreneurs in Germany (AEU), a network of Protestant entrepreneurs, managers and executives.

The Hanns Lilje Foundation considers the Working Committee to be a „gain for companies, the Church and society“. The foundation decided on the Working Committee to win the award for successfully sensitising and reassuring corporate executives with regard to questions of faith. The jury also gave the following reason for their decision: „The Working Committee has a unique way of providing ethical orientation and professional exchange on entrepreneurial decisions, even in crisis situations.“
